Custom System on Modules
Development

Bypass the complexity of high-speed routing and power management. We design custom SoMs that fit your footprint, freeing you to focus on your proprietary carrier board and application logic.

Why Go Custom with a SoM?

Designing a modern processor circuit from scratch is a high-stakes game. A custom SoM from Conclusive Engineering gives you the best of both worlds: the flexibility of a bespoke design and the stability of a production-ready module.

Miniaturization Without Compromise:

We specialize in high-density interconnects and multi-layer HDI PCB design to fit powerful CPUs and memory into the tightest spaces.

De-Risk Your Project:

We handle the "hard part"; the high-speed signal integrity for LPDDR4/5, PCIe Gen 4/5, and complex PMIC sequencing.

Pin-Out Flexibility:

Need a specific pin-out to match an existing legacy carrier board? We can design a custom SoM that drops right into your current ecosystem.

Scalable Performance:

Design your carrier board once. Swap the SoM as your performance needs grow or as newer, more efficient processors hit the market.

Our Custom SoM Capabilities

Industry Standards or Proprietary Form Factors

  • We design modules that adhere to industry standards for maximum interoperability.
  • If standards don't fit your mechanical envelope, we create custom mechanical footprints and connector interfaces tailored to your chassis.

Architecture Expertise

Whether your application demands the low power of ARM Cortex-A or the versatility of FPGA-SoCs, we have the architectural experience to implement it.

High-Speed Interface Mastery

Our team is seasoned in routing and validating the interfaces that matter. For example:

  • Memory: LPDDR4x, LPDDR5, DDR4.
  • Networking: 10GbE, TSN (Time Sensitive Networking).
  • Expansion: Multi-lane PCIe, USB 4.0, and MIPI-CSI/DSI for advanced imaging.

Software is Not an Afterthought

A SoM is only as good as its Board Support Package (BSP). At Conclusive Engineering, hardware and software are developed in parallel.

Mainline Linux commitment:

We strive for mainline kernel support to ensure your product isn't stuck on an orphaned, vendor-specific kernel.

Secure Boot & TrustZone:

We implement hardware-rooted security from the ground up to protect your IP and user data.

Optimized power management:

Custom firmware tuning to squeeze every minute of battery life out of mobile or remote deployments.

RCHD-PF

RCHD-PF System on Module

  • 667 MHz RISC-V, 5 cores
  • Microchip PolarFire® FPGA: 23K - 254K Logic Elements
  • RISC-V and FPGA integrated on a Single Chip
  • High-Speed I/O and 12.7 Gbit/s transceivers
  • Real-Time Signal Processing with Hardware Offloading

This is the strongest recommendation for creating highly secure, custom hardware solutions.

The combination of a RISC-V processor and an FPGA is a powerful tool for defense. The FPGA can be used to implement custom cryptographic accelerators, hardware firewalls, and secure boot mechanisms that are physically burned into the silicon, making them extremely difficult to tamper with or reverse-engineer.

The open-source nature of RISC-V allows for deep security audits to verify that there are no hidden backdoors, a critical requirement for many government and defense agencies.
